The end and short of it is that it remains a closed system. For Tassimo and Keurig, the range they offer is excellent, so you can still enjoy many types of coffee bean or types.

Continuing, with Nespresso, you have to really like coffee as all their offerings are all coffee related. That said, they do have good "width" with their products. Their range or width of excellent and thus complement that shortcoming.
